Ali Pipta | Model

Our friend Ali Pipta is auditioning for the next season of America's Next Top Model. To give her portfolio a boost and celebrate her birthday, she booked a model session.

We first met Ali two years ago during her senior session. She was a doll then and continues to be sweet as pie! Good luck Ali on your audition! You will do great!

Thank you Claudia, Glam it up! Salon, for the hair and makeup!

Photo into Fine Art

With the help of computer programs and the finessing hand of our graphic artist, Michelle Mozingo, our photographs take a life all their own.

Here is the actual photograph of our client Christy and her daughter Madison.

This is the image as a Fine Art Watercolor. Very cool and very timeless.

Mason Thomas | Children's session

Our little buddy Mason was such a good sport about his portraits...except for when it came to wearing his cowboy hat. We'd put it on...and he'd take it off! Funny stuff.

His parents wanted a few shots of him in his Halloween costume as a boxer. I took the liberty of photoshopping a black eye for dramatic effect.

Here are some of my favorite shots.

Cowan Farm

I've loved horses ever since I was a little boy. One summer, we went to Mexico (the country, not the city in Missouri) to visit my grandparents. One of my uncles was rounding up cattle on horse back, and I begged to help.

With trepidation, he said, 'Yes.' Well, being the city slicker that I am, I was wearing shorts, a T-shirt and boots. But that wasn't going to stop me from saddling up.

Without fail, a calf started heading the wrong direction. My uncle yells,"Cut her off around those bushes." So, I high tailed it through the bushes instead. Well, little did I know they were some kind of exotic thorn bushes! The thorns pierced my thighs a quarter of an inch deep. It hurt like a "son of a beach." My thighs were bloody, and I was crying like a baby girl. But I will never forget how wonderful it felt to gallop.

So, when Kay stopped by the studio to set up her photo shoot, I was more than thrilled when she said it would include her horses.

Here are some of my favorite shots of Kay, her foreign exchange student and her son, Jason.

Caitlin T. | 2010 Senior Mount Pleasant, IA

Caitlin loves shoes! Her outfits revolved around her shoes and boots...and those boots are bananas!

P.S. Chrissy, this is who reminded me of you! You girls could be sisters!:)

Here are some of my favorite shots.

Brummit Family

I thought we would never get to shoot the Brummit Family. On two separate occasions rain postponed our session.

But last weekend we got lucky with the weather and the kids.

Here are some of my favorite shots.

Ashley & Doug | e-session

Ashley and Doug are getting married in the spring...but for their engagement session fall was definitely the perfect backdrop. Click on the picture to see their slideshow.

Brian C. | Senior 2010 Trenton HS

Like most of our guys, Brian wanted to keep his senior portrait session short and sweet. The only "must gets" were with his truck and his gun.

Here are some of my favorite shots.

Sampson Kids

It's hard to believe that it's been a little over a year that I first photographed the Sampson boys, Corbin and Kolton. This year Chad and Mackenzie added a baby girl to their family, Madelyn.

Here are some of my favorite shots.

Neely Miller | children's session

What a ray of sunshine! Miss Neely, as I like to call her, was a ball of energy. And a big thanks to her grandpa for letting her use his newly restored John Deere tractor and trike for her portraits.

Morgan H. | 2010 Senior South Shelby HS

Morgan and I were a little nervous during her senior session because the storm clouds were approaching quickly. We had already rescheduled her session once and we certainly didn't want to do it again.

To beat the rain, Morgan changed outfits like a pit crew changes tires at the Indy 500.

Here are some of my favorite shots.

Tristan L. | 2010 Senior Knox Co. HS

Tristan had a special request during his senior session. He brought a picture of his brother, Tyler, who died earlier this year in a car accident near Edina.

Tristan's mother, Tina, said she didn't have a picture of her two sons together as teenagers and pleaded with me to find a way to put them together in one shot.

Thanks to Photoshop, I was able to use Tyler's picture and make it look like it was spray painted on a wall next to Tristan.

Here are some of my favorite shots from our session with Tristan.
