Thomas Boys

Joey, Nathan, and Gabe...what an amazing trio! Talk about well behaved children.
It was the perfect day to shoot! Nice blue skies, white clouds, and cool breeze.

We started our session at a new rustic location I found in town. As I stood the boys on a pile of wood I saw a snake slither around. It was black with yellow stripes. Joey thought it was a garden snake. I could tell it was more scared of us than us of it. Good thing we were done with this location.

Other than that...it was a great session! Here are some of my favorite shots and the link to their slideshow!

More Matt McCarty

Shortly after our first session with Matt McCarty...his mom called back to schedule another session!

This time we headed out to Edina, Mo. We drove all over God's green country looking for great backgrounds and boy did we find some cool places. Matt's crazy (like a fox) sisters came along for the shoot too. Amanda and Debra were instrumental in getting Matt to break his smile into a full fledged grin! Thanks girls! I think you two have a bright future in comedy!

And get this...after the shoot, Lynn and the kids treated us to dinner at the Blue Room. Thanks again for dinner Lynn. Your the best!

Garage to Studio

After months and months of looking for that perfect place with just enough room at just the right price, John and I have finally decided to convert our two car garage into our new studio.

For the past several months Tom Hensley has been generous to loan us his second floor as our studio. My ultimate dream would be to buy the building from Tom and use the whole thing as a studio/workshop/apartment. Maybe one of these day when Tom retires I'll approach him about the idea.

But for now, John and I have a lot of painting to do. It's only been a little more than an year that we painted the whole house and garage in two days! John picked the colors (olive green, violet, tan) and used painters tape to get the lines perfect...only to now paint it all white! He wasn't a big fan of painting over his hard work...but I explained we needed white walls to bounce natural light into our pictures. Thank you John for being such a trooper!

The inspiration for a white, natural light studio came from this amazing photographer named Audrey Woulard. She's a famous children's photogrpher is Chicago. Her pictures are amazing. I realized the more and more I shot with only natural light the more and more I like it. So, just about everything in the studio will be white...except for the clothes my clients wear most of the time. And get this....I'm getting a new white couch from IKEA! I can't wait!

I want to take this opprotunity to thank all of our clients and friends that have helped and continute to help make our dreams a reality! I never thought I would be booking three sessions a week in such a short amount of time. And John never thought he would have to keep parking his car outside in the winter. I really am so blessed and grateful to be a photographer!

Billie and Brett

Billie Mitchell and Brett Hunter are high school sweet hearts heading toward marital bliss in September. When Billie and I first met she said "Brett loves cars and it's rubbed off on me too. Can we get some of the cars in our engagement session?" You bet, I said.

Billie and Brett arrived at our first location is her Lamborghini Yellow mustang with 20 inch black rims. WOW! That car is a show stopper. Then at Brett's parents estate...Brett pulls out a blue and grey 1957 Chevy! It was amazing!

The next morning, Billie gave us a wake-up call to rave about the slideshow. We were simply delighted to know we surpassed their expectations!

I've taken a lot of pictures over the past years... but hands down this first one is one of my all time favorite shots along with more of my favorites from their sesission!

Northeast Missouri Health Council Picnic

Andy Grimm is the associate director for the Northeast Missouri Health Council (NMHC). I met Andy and his wife Tonya about a year ago at the Dukum Inn. We've been friends ever since.

The Council had a picnic at the Kirksville Country Club and Andy asked me to be the offical photogrpher of the event. I didn't have a session booked for that day...so I said yes. I'm so glad I did!

Matthew McCarty

I hope all my senior sessions will be as fun as Matthew's session. He was charismatic, charming, and a goofball! I've never met someone who can smile on command and it look so real.

Our session started in downtown Kirksville, we hit the lake, then the baseball and football fields for his sports shots.

Get this, Matthew's mother Lynn works with our friend Tabitha Heddinger at Northeast Missouri State Bank. That's where John banks. John and Tabitha go way back. In fact, when John was a senior at Brashear, he used to serve breakfast to Tabitha and all the other kindergartners! I know, I know, John holds up pretty good for his age! Hahahahah.
