Holiday Update

We're moving right along with our new iMac! And I'm we're making lots of progress with images from the past two weeks.

In the meantime...if you have prints that you would like to give as gifts this Christmas...please be sure to place your order by next week. We will be closed for Thanksgiving and the day after. We will also be closed the last two weeks of December.

Thanks,
Hector

BJ Allen & Blue Voodoo

I love music, fashion, and photography...so when we got a phone call from BJ Allen asking us to style, shoot, and design their next album cover we were over the moon with excitment!

BJ Allen & Blue Voodoo is a sultry soul/blues quartet based here in Kirksville. The album is set to release in January.

Here is a look at the cover and inside booklet. If you would like to pre-order your copy...give Circle M Music a call...660.341.9008

Thanks BJ for giving me such creative freedom on this project!

Jarvis Family

We met the Jarvis Family earlier this year at the Doggie Luau hosted by our good friends at Pawsitive Animaworks! They needed a shot to send out with their Christmas cards and we were happy to oblige. It was cold outside...but we made it quick!

Rubi Nutter

Her eyes say it all! Rubi and her parent came out to our house for their session. It was cold and a little wet outside so what was supposed to be an outdoor session turned into a studio session.

Rubi is like an old soul. One on my tricks to get people to smile without it looking like it's fake is to have them say YES! Well Rubi was trying really hard to nail the one line... but she kept saying cheese! Either way I think we captured her many sides.

Test Vlog

So one of the perks of spending thousands of dollars on a new iMac is that it comes with this cool camera built in.

I spent most of the evening frustrated because I could not import photos from my session earlier that day. Apparently, Adobe is still trying to work out some issues with Lightroom 2.0.

I'm kind of excited about making my blog into a vlog! What I mean is that instead of typing about my sessions, I will be able to record myself and post it with my favorites!

By the way, in the video clip below I was channeling Harpo from the movie The Color Purple. :)

Mayday, mayday....I'm offline!

Hello... I just wanted to let everyone know that for the past week I have been without a computer and Internet service!

It's been a frustrating and stressful week to say the least. First, our brand new PC with Windows Vista became incompatible with the software program I use to download and enhance photos. I won't go into the conversations I had with HP or Windows about the issue because just thinking about it makes my blood pressure rise! Then, to add salt to the wound ...we lost our Internet connection. So, I haven't been able to process pictures, make slideshows, or post updates on our blog. I'm posting this one from my office at ATSU.

At any rate, an IT guy came to the house today from Mark Twain Communications and we are back online. Thank you Jesus! And get this...our brand new iMac is scheduled for delivery today! Thank you even more Jesus!

We decided to leave the PC world for a Mac because we just couldn't afford this kind of melt down again. I know, I know, I should have never bought a PC to begin with, but I never had a reason not to. With business increasing daily we just couldn't afford anymore error codes.

So, if you are one of our clients wondering why I have sent you an email or posted your pictures....now you know why. But rest assure, I'll work into the wee hours of the night to get caught up and get your pictures to you.

Thanks for your patience and understanding. :)

Grissom Kids

We got really lucky with the weather during our session with the Grissoms. The kids were a hoot and totally fun to photograph.

The first shot below is why I love candid shots. I asked the kids to get on their bellies for a quick shot...then they see spiders! OMG, chaos and laughter ensues. This wasn't the shot I was after...but when it showed up I'm glad I was ready!

Cristal H. | Knox Co. HS Senior

What a trooper! Cristal and I were determined to not let the rain put a damper on her senior session. I was a little worried that she would not want to get her hair wet but that was not the case. For the most part it was just misting. But toward the end of our session, the rain drops started getting a little bigger.

Thanks to the "Glam Squad" at Color Me Red for hair and make-up!

Meagn E. | KHS Senior

Megan is such a sweetheart! It wasn't sunny or warm outside but Megan wasn't going to let that get in the way of her senior session.

We both started laughing uncontrollably when I asked her to put on her hood and pucker her lips. I told her to find her inner gangsta girl!

Wood Girls

I traveled out to La Plata, Mo, to meet up with the Wood girls. They were a little shy at first...but warmed up quickly. Their mother Libby and I watched from afar as they walked, talked, and explored the back yard.
